Today's Outfit: Here Comes the Sun

Today's outfit was inspired by gorgeous skirts I saw recently somewhere out in internetland involving a sheer layer over a non-sheer layer (unfortunately, I can't remember where and though I could have sworn I bookmarked them, I can't find them to save my life). Anywhoo, the outer layer reminded me of this sheer slip I thrifted ages (as in over 10 years) ago. For something to wear under it, I dug out this hand-dyed pink slip. I really love how the sheer layer reveals the lovely lace detailing underneath. For a little extra sparkle I threw on my silver sequined and beaded belt which, if you've been around for a while, you may remember from this post. Other than the old Target tank, it's all thrifted or purchased second-hand in some capacity.

I went out to my yard in search of a good place to photograph the outfit for wardrobe_remix, wanting to find a spot where the light would show the layered slips well. This little wisteria covered corner by our new pond turned out to be perfect. The sunlight was filtering through the leaves in a really pretty way and when I looked through the camera and saw the visible rays streaming down, I knew I had found the magic spot. I love the way splashes of light look in photographs.

Missa, you really know how to choose a location! And that sheer layer on the skirt is fab.

I love the detail of the darker slip underneath. It's such a lovely floaty look.
