Latest in Loot: Installment 1, The Birthday Finds

I know it’s been over a month now since I’ve posted any thrift finds, but I assure you I have indeed been thrifting. So, rather than do one impossibly long post, I’ll share my most recent finds in installments.

As mentioned, I was able to make it out on my own last Saturday. This was my last big hurrah at my favorite Salvation Army store which is closing down in a week, so sad :( It was nice to have lots of time to myself to sift through everything unrushed AND everything in the store was 50% off!

I went with the intention of tackling the dreaded jeans racks, and tackle them I did! I spent hours in the store and went through many super-long racks of jeans and pants, I now know why I’ve been avoiding them… it was exhausting, my arms were sore by the end of it.

I did however, come away from it all with two pairs of jeans and one pair of pants that I’m pretty excited about, as well as a few other lovely items:

High-waist lace-up jeans made of super soft denim. I like their vintage inspired 70’s shape. The brand is Billy Blues which I’d never heard of, but after looking it up online and seeing that their pants go for around $200 a pair, I figured I got a pretty sweet deal at $4.

My new favorite big cozy vintage sweater ($2.75)… I love the colors and if you look closely you can see the rows of hearts and butterflies :)

These classic Levi’s 501’s ($4) fit me absolutely perfectly and I love the high but not too high waist on them. I’m pretty sure these are going to become my new go-to pair of jeans for pairing with almost anything. They are especially great with my new favorite sweater!

Cozy vintage cardi ($3.25)… one can never have too many of those I say. It’s the perfect long-ish length with just a bit of flare at the bottom to give it a wonderful shape. I love the pockets and the collar too.

I had been searching for a pair of high-waist pleated trousers in tan or gray to wear cuffed at the bottom like this. These were $3 and are pretty close to perfect.

And last but not least, there’s this slinky wrap-constructed dress ($4.50) with the amazing print of… yes those are FEATHERS! It’s like being held under a wing and I plan to wear it with my skinny gold belt, tall brown suede boots, and lil’ cropped jean jacket just as soon as the weather warms up again, I’ll be sure to take pics :)

That’s just the beginning… stay tuned for more thrift bounty to come!

That feather dress! It's so sexy! What a great score. I'm also quite smitten with the trousers you found. I've been hunting a good pair of those myself, but my big bum is proving to be harder to fit than expected. Still...sally forth, I say.
