Happy New Year!
I snapped these shots of the window displays at Sacks Hospice Thrift yesterday. I was out trying to thrift myself something shiny and festive to wear to our friend Joey’s party tonight.
I picked up a really wacky/great part metallic shimmery, part black sheer crazy iridescent multi-jewel-toned drapey jacket thing that kind of looks like a flowy blazer of sorts (I know, it defies all reason). It’s like nothing else in my closet which is what I kinda love about it. Now the challenge at hand is to figure out what the heck to wear it with. Hopefully I will be successful and pictures will follow!
A very Happy New Year to all my lovely readers! Thanks so much you guys for continuing to stop by, and know that your comments are always so enjoyed and appreciated. Hearing from you really does brighten my days :) Wishing you all a wonderful 2010!

Whimsical Fashion-conscious Video
Hi!
I thought that you and the followers of your blog and twitter might find this video interesting!
http://bit.ly/7DxnHm
My actress in "Paper Birds" is wearing a vintage jacket from Paris, the skirt used to be a long vintage skirt from a flea market in Los Angeles but was cut to make it mini, the yellow tights were from a department store in Los Angeles, the shoes are from Paris.
The wardrobe was meant to reflect her whimsical and maybe even mythical personality and create a stark contrast with her environment.
The theme of the video is about the inspiration that can be found even in ordinary circumstances and that in giving back / sharing to the world - magic is created. A theme that is appropriate for the holiday season!
Thanks and Happy New Year,
David
P.S. I have still pictures if you'd like as well.

Happy New Year :)
I have wanted to visit Sacks ever since I first read about it on your blog. I looked it up somewhere (?) a while back, and got an address. When my sisters and I were visiting the area last year, we let a GPS take us to the location, and it wasn't there! I was SO disappointed. So - can you tell me - did it ever used to be located in Petaluma- or am I crazy, or what? Do you know how long it has been "On The Square"- or is that where it's always been? I'm so confused. And I really DO want to go there next time we're in the area! I WILL make it there some day - can't wait to see those window displays. Until then, I'll look forward to (hopefully) seeing them featured on your blog again in the future.
I really enjoy reading about all of your thrifted fashions.
Thank you for your wonderful blog.
