Boy, Oh Boy

Aww, blazer trend... you got me.

This was an outfit from a few days ago, in which I made my first attempt at wearing the vintage blazer found recently at the Goodwill. Blazers seem to be everywhere these days and just when I thought it was a trend that I would be skipping (they can be tricky fit-wise), this one came along and there you have it, I'm dressed like a boy.

The vintage plaid shirt is one I thrifted for Lucas awhile back (the label says: The Men's Store) but I'm kinda liking it for me now, the little plaid hair bow is from a thrifted vintage boy's bow tie, and the sock/shoe combo was inspired by this.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

This weekend was about getting our little family unit into the Christmas spirit... tree decorating, garland and stocking hanging, and Christmas music listening (The Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack is back in heavy rotation :)

Rockin' mama's purse

Some Sunday morning moments and more styling magic from little Clover (who knew the fairy tutu was such a versatile piece? ;)

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

I'm a big fan of blazers too - they can be a bit boyish, but as you show they can look good! Happy holiday season :)

You have the knack for finding good jackets (this one and the green one a few posts down, to name but a few)! I seem to never be able to find any blazers apart from the HUGE boxy 80s ones! Both of you look lovely!

I love the look of a blazer (which you have pulled off so well here!), but you're right - they can be difficult fit-wise. I still haven't found one that fits just right.

Hello loveliest of mothers besides my own! :) You look charming in these boy clothes, the bow-tie added an awesome girly twist. I really dig your Christmas tree too and the fact that it's as real as can be. I can imagine how great it smells all fresh and piney. My aunt gets real trees too, it's delightful walking into her house and snifing the air all piney at Christmas.

Oh I wanted to thank you for the comment you left on my blog about the fig tree! I'm jealous you have one but I'm most glad for you. And all thanks to that comment I learned what *espaliered* was! Thank you for teaching me that word! It blew my mind with joy at seeing such beautiful tree designs. And I can’t believe you got married under an oak tree, tis the tree I’m fondest of. Musta been a magical wedding.

Beautiful photos, the lighting in the one with Clover by the tree is just perfect :-)

I've had a crock similar to the one under your tree in the back of my car for weeks now. Found it all dusty down in my grandmothers basement so I rescued it with a plant in mind, but I'm totally going to borrow this idea for our tabletop tree!
Ps. I've always been particular to the "boyish" look myself. I'm definitely a button down/cardigan/blazer wearing typea gal, so this outfit is a yes! as far as I'm concerned. very cute.

Seriously- way to rock the blazer! I always feel weird about wearing those, but you fully pulled it off. The bow is perfect.
And little Miss Clover! So big!
