My New Years Eve...

Snuggling up by the fire with my sweeties :)

Kareoke Ben

Being thoroughly entertained by the karaoke stylings of my wacky friends, and finding Ben's rendition of Carol King's It's Too Late quite delightful indeed. I was not part of the peanut gallery btw, I was busy trying to hold my camera steady while laughing silently.

Dancing,

picture taking,

midnight kissing,

and sipping champagne from a Dixie cup while savoring the greasy goodness of
a tater tot... does it get any classier?

Um... yeah, it does.

Looks pretty moist to me.

Joey, celebrating his cake aiming skills.

Clover, wondering what the heck is going on.

That looks like a big mountain of fun!

We went and sat up on the point (local headland) among the pandanus palms with lots of other people and had drinks, watched fireworks across the water and let the little dude run wild with all the other feral kids. Nice, definitely nice, but no cake was thrown...

Parteeeee! Happy New Year!
(Clover has the best bewildered look.)

I spent New Years with my mom, looking at the fireworks and telling next years fortunes from melted tin that you pour into cold water to make shapes, which you then project to the wall by candle light. Age old finnish custom. Next year I'm getting an Island (surprise!), a little money, what looks like a capuchan monkey and a sail boat! So you have to come visit so that we can go sailing.

In other news: I'm getting my visa on Monday! Finally!

Lemme know when you get the package, I didn't have time to write a proper letter at all so none is explained, even the fact that I re-used the lovely package you once made, but that was the wrong size ;)

AH! What a great looking new years. I think it's how it should be. It has all the good bits of a new year rather than all the bad bits that most people seem to have lately.

Definately hold onto the view master!
They are collectible especially with slides! And it's value will only increase with time :)

Such great party photos! Whenever I'm at a party the photos I take end up ridiculous for some reason. These make me want to be there too.

Happy New Year, my dear!

Also, I must say that I am dying to learn more about the Finnish tradition of projecting fortunes on the wall that Milla mentioned.
