So far so good!
Photos from a little jaunt we took up north with the teardrop in tow. Joined by Lucas' sister Isolde and family, we stopped in for a visit with their dad in Fort Bragg. Then spent a night trailer camping at Russian Gulch State Park followed by a short pit stop in Mendocino before moving on to our second night of camping at Hendy Woods.
An evening stroll out to the ocean, a morning stroll through ancient redwood groves, a dip in the Navarro River in between, and plenty of s'mores around the campfire to boot. It was a super fun little trip and now we're excited to get our little trailer out on the road for more! If only all the camping reservations in California weren't booked :( Will have to plan better for next season it seems, and see what we can manage in the meantime.
Yesterday was our first day back and we spent the afternoon in my mom's pool with my sisters and their families. It's been HOT around here and I'm quite enjoying it. Tonight will be all about family and friends, BBQ and fireworks, more summertime fun at Joey's annual 4th of July party.
We're on the final stretch of Clover's three week break from pre-school. Between all the summery excitement and having her home all the time, not to mention a nasty flu virus that swept through our neighborhood (incapacitating our little family for about four day straight), I've not been finding the time to make my presence known as I quickly sneak peeks here and there through the windows to all my lovely bloggy friends' worlds.
Once Clover starts up with pre-school again next week I'm looking forward to having more time to reconnect with you all and to pick up the posting pace myself. I still have a million Mexico pics to show you!
Until then, take care friends, and Happy Fireworks Day!

I'd not visited your blog in a while an come here now to find loads of words an images in a glittering and golden swirl of past and present....and the post & photos of your dad & tiny you.... happy fourth to you and your family, so glad you are healthy and enjoying summer fun & restfulness. can you perhaps email me? i'm off the FB for the summer and now i need your address again. With love, sadie rose
Looks like your Summer is off to a wonderful start. You guys are so lucky to have that teardrop trailer. It must make camping even more fun! I love the first photo of you & Clover and then the photo of you sitting meditatively between the ancient Redwood Trees. You're right about all the camp sites in Cali being booked up. I can hardly believe it. Luckily, I was able to book a spot in the Sequoia National Park for August. Continue to have a blessed Summer. Happy 4th of July, friend!
Love the photo of you sitting on that stump between those big trees. Trees just don't get that big out here, at least, not anymore.
I really want to do more camping, but it's difficult when I'm by myself out here.
Oh California, these photos are amazingly beautiful! what girl doesn't love a big ol' tree shot. little bits of peace and love were certainly a part of their making.
Oh Missa, my little miss has been giving me so many extra surprise kisses lately that the top photo of you and Clover having a little smooch did me in. Aren't they so beautiful and loving? I keep thinking "will she still love me this much when she's 16?". Gotta enjoy it now. Missa, my hubs and I have all the best intentions in the world to visit California nxt year around May, and i hope to meet you... i'll try email you through flickr. Missed you around these parts!

STUNNING photos!!! Hope you all have a wonderful Summer :-)
ooo that sounds bad that a virus was near you. I love all your photos and it is so nice to see moms spending so much time with their little ones. I've been having this one woman I know try to push her kids onto others as much as possible this summer and it makes me so sad to see how she doesn't really like spending time with her kids!
you girls are beautiful out there in the wild world together! that photo of you on the tree is my favorite ever!!! did you put some effect on it to make it slightly hazy? it is the dreamiest :)
i need some good old camping myself! for our anniversary trip we stayed in a cabin so i haven't done any actual camping or backpacking yet...but it's coming! your trip makes me want to head up the coast PRONTO. clover is getting so tall and grown up, what a playful little lady! i miss you guys. you and clover appeared in my dream last night and i think you were greeting milla. sweetness.
can't wait to see MEJICO too! happiest of summer to my dear ones.
wow missa, these photos are truly gorgeous! looks like you all are having a wonderful summer so far.
can't wait to see you pictures from mexico!
beautiful california!! i love your tear drop trailer, i can't wait to own one someday.
Oh, you are making me long for California again...
Lovely photos! I especially love the one of you sitting in your redwood throne. I wish I could fall into the deep woodsy images right now and press my face against the cool, damp forest floor (hot here...very hot, for many days straight....sigh). So glad to see/hear that you and yours are doing well. Hugs!
i knew it was fort bragg before you said it. love that country up there. so many happy memories of being clover's age and camping. look foward to your return! yay preschool!!! my kid's poor teacher only takes off christmas eve and thanksgiving. she's hardcore, god bless her.
Fun fun fun! That photo of the kids in the redwood is unREAL.
I'm looking forward to kindergarten starting on August 23rd for the same reason ;-)
Sounds so wonderful but I am so amazed at all the jackets and long sleeves that can be worn in July! Today it was 102. I stayed mostly cold all day though but only because the ac were blasting in all the stores. I so love your California xoxoxo
aren't we so lucky to live here? i love my norcal. we camped at hendy woods once when i was very little and i still remember it. the first pic of you and clover is so adorable! the bf and kid camped in big sur last week and said it was the beeeest! lots of creek swimming. (i had to work...)
i am so sorry i have dropped the ball so much! new job and its resulting life changes have me flustered and out of my old routine. will email you tomorrow. :) can't wait to see mexico pics! <3
Oh man, what a glorious California sun and fun! I love that I now have some idea where these places might be ;) Did I ever remember to mention that we loved our way home up the little bit of Nor Cal coast. Something magical about it. And I freakin' loved Mendocino. We had some of the weirdest experiences there. And it turns out that the landlord of the Homestead Building where I work also owns the old church co-op in Mendocino. What a weird land-lording practice.
That first photo of you and Clover-kin just kills me! I miss you guys much. ("I'm going on a extpedison!")
Forgot to mention...I have a wee thrifty care package to send your way...could you email me?

LOVE your tear drop trailer... how are you guys liking it? We got a tent trailer a couple of years ago and like it ok. It gets the job done. We usually cook outside on a portable stove or over a fire ring just so there's not food all over in the trailer. I would love one of those old little loaf-of-bread looking trailers, but I'm not sure if we'll make the switch.
That sweet first picture could be a band name, "kissing Clover" hehe Way cute. And the rest of your pictures are making me wanna up and leave (even though I just got back). Can't wait to see how your Mexico trip went!!!
Happy Wednesday lady! :D
Yes, I noticed with Arlo out of school I have a hard time keeping up my blogger duties as well :) Glad to know I'm not alone. These pictures capture all that is glorious about summer - the one up top is my favorite, and getting a peek at your tear drop is always such a treat. That thing is SO awesome! Too bad we couldn't arrange a big 'ol blogger camp out huh? That would be the kind of weekend to write home about, I'm sure.
Also looking forward to your Mexico post! xx
