When I picked up the floral prairie skirt (worn on my meetup with Anne) at the Salvation Army last Friday, I also found a second perfect vintage prairie piece. This little lilac dress captured my heart with its puffed sleeves, eyelet trim, and the best part… secret side pockets lined with lilac calico fabric!
Originally the dress was about mid-calf length with another ruffle layer at the bottom made of fabric with the same print only the colors were reversed. The combination of the two fabrics was cute, but I’m happy with the shorter length (it was too voluminous before) and the eyelet trim made it easy to cut the bottom layer off without having to worry about the hemline.
I wore this to the Harmony Festival last Saturday with a group of friends. The day was SUNNY and HOT so I was pretty stoked to look in my closet and realize I had the perfect lilac sunhat to go with my new dress! In fact, I wore this very hat to last year’s Harmony Festival... so, I think I’m going to start naming all my hats now, this one will of course be my Harmony hat :)
I'll leave you with a handful of enchanted moments captured during our shiny happy day…
A magical weekend to all!
Especially the papas :)

That dress is so cute. It reminds me of old Holly Hobby samplers. The pics from the fest are amazing, especially the last one!
I always admire how there is so many fun festivals etc where you live..looks like so much fun especially with the kids..it's so boring mostly where i come from..
You look gorgeous!
If you ever visit Australia, be sure to attend 'ConFest' over Easter or New Years Eve in the New South Wales bush. From what I can see happening in these photos of the Harmony festival, you would really enjoy it! Lots of tribal living, workshops, vego food, chai tea, swimming in the river.....I wish it was festival season here!

oooh! what a day at the salvation army, huh? i'd be jumping for joy at BOTH the cutie-pie prairie girl items you scored, lucky duck!
i can't believe i have still never been to the Harmony festival! my friends go every year, and i always hear fun stories about it, but somehow i never got to go when i lived there. anyway it looks like you all had a dreamy day and seriously, i LOVE what you did to the dress. taking off the next ruffle makes the knee-length one SO flouncy and dramatic.
what a delightful little collection of photos you have on this post. dreamy and lovely. and i do love your hat name.
Loving the lilac! The shorter length makes it extra tasty.
The fairie productions? So cute, but not as cute as two of my favorite ladies: you and Cloverino! Okay Lucas looks pretty cute too, Happy Papa Day to him!
Oh wow, gorgeous pics. Looks like a great time as usual. (Then again, how can anything called "Harmony Festival" not be great. Pretty outfit Missa! I really love the style of that dress!
Looks like you had a lot of fun! The dress looks lovely on you (especially the color) and I love the photos you took - the second one (of everyone doing yoga?? worshiping Krishna?.. :) ) that one is my favortie, it's such a great moment captured
Clover is sooo cute! Love the dress, it's sort of prairiesh and romantic =D You look so good in hats!
That looks like a lovely day! Your dress is perfect with that hat, and I love Clover's little fairy wings. So cute!
If I recall correctly not only are we wearing aprons on the same days, we wore our overalls in the same week as well. I supsect we are on a similar style wavelengh!
My goodness how magical! The dress looks as happy as the festival, must be so much fun to wear!
Oh my a harmony festival? That just sounds too good to be true. I'm dying to get out of Ontario, Canada so that I can go find more hipsters in the U.S
Gonna look the Harmony Festival up!
Lovely post as always
I just love all the photos of father and daughter, they are so special! I really wanted to go to the harmony festival, it looked you you all had a great time! The perfect lavender hat and dress were a great combo!
I love all those pictures! Clover is such a doll :)
That dress is great, it must have been made for you, hehe
cute pics. so lovely!!
The necklace is beautiful. And the Harmony Festival looks like a blast! All I've ever been to festival-wise is Seattle's Folklife festival (which sounds like more fun than it is, and also, is probably less kid-friendly).
That hat is so pretty and so is the dress! I think dresses without waists are so perfect when it is hot outside, so much more comfy. I just acquired a vintage one that I almost got rid of (because I'm so used to cinched waists.) Glad I gave it another try because now I am hooked. Clover's skirt is so lovely as well and that necklace!
shiny happy indeed!
The smiling fairy picture is beyond adorable!! Great dress too, pockets = love!
Fun fun fun! In the close up picture Clover truly looks like a wee elf child!
I love prairie skirts. This totally is like Hollie Hobbie!!
Ha! Hi sweet little fairy person! I love Clover's wings!
