Reaching for Spring

Leather and Florals

Since it feels like a really long time since I've done a simple outfit post, I decided to rustle up a cute outfit today and take a few pics while I continue working on a couple of monster posts about the big meet-up weekend.

Light and Limbs
I just realized that Spring is only two weeks away, woohoo! Inspired by the brightly shining sun and all the blooming going on around the homestead, I went with a little floral mixing. Oh, how I do heart me some floral mixing :)

This pressed leather and chain owl necklace, a Flaming Hag Folkwear original, hand made by the lovely Nicole herself, is my new love! It has been spending most days around my neck since we visited her shop in Sacramento. Heather, who was also contemplating it's purchase, was kind enough to allow me the honor, thanks Heathe!

Late last night, there was an owl hooting outside our home, which is pretty rare for our neighborhood, it hung around for quite awhile hooting at semi-regular intervals, so cool! I like to think the necklace had something to do with it's presence ;)

Sunflares

Floral Skirt: thrifted

p.s. Thanks to Sadie and Bee for the mini/leggings/boots combo inspirations!

You know I love it when you wear plural floral! So nineties. These shots really bring back ya good old days when there was guaranteed Missa outfit at least twice a week. I remember waiting for one to come up like a kid on Christmas eve, and FYI: I still do.
I'm even a little bit jealous for your spring blooms. All I got is rain and nettles. Which I love and eat, but still. Not quite as romantic as blossoms.

I love the floral mix-up you got going on, and the blossoming scenery around your home is delightful. I also like all the light bubbles in your photos. I cannot wait for Spring & Summer -- the Seasons when I am most alive.

Hope For The Flowers :-)

Yes, the sunlight is incredible in these! And those blossoms give my heart little wings.

Last winter Lucky Magazine did this whole spread centered around multi-layered floral, it was my favorite thing ever and this darling outfit would fit right into those pages!

for some reason that first photo is especially soothing to my eyes. I can't quit wanting to "see it" - the rest, naturally, is great too. That necklace! Also, I could never pull off any kind of dual floral combo and yet it works seamlessly on you. So sweet. Can't wait for spring, new flowers, and your "monster" posts regarding that blogger adventure it seems was 'a written in the stars.

I am so glad that you are enjoying the little owl, and that he is bringing his buddies to visit :)
You and the plantlife look beautiful.
Now bring on Spring!

You look fabulous as usual! Are you sure these pictures are not from a catalog?
Also nice to see some spring in action -still plenty of snow here in Maine.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment the other day by the way :-)

HOW DID I MISS THIS?!! for some reason it didn't pop up on my sidebar, which is my wanky way of knowing when people do new posts. and i'm with milla, it's kinda like christmas when you show your pretty outfits. this one is PERFECT for spring's first blossoms. i love this time of year. gardenias, tulips, camelias, lilacs, plum trees, dogwoods...all in bloom on my street as well as a few other pretties whose names i don't know.

once in a while i hear an owl too and it is such a mysterious and rare treat, like a call from another world. so glad your "totem spirit" was able to send a message from the other side, (sorry, clan of the c. b.) must be good luck!

happy blossoms dearheart!

wow, you look incredible! these are some of your best shots i've ever seen and love them all flowing together. as someone else mentioned, mixing florals can be risky business and yet it looks so effortless on you. most excellent!

You suit this!!! The floral mixing is perfect. And is absolutely going to be inspiring my Autumnal outfits and thrifting I reckon. I've missed your outfit posts, but I know from personal experience that sometimes, life and living have to be prioritised eh! :) And completely happy for you that cheerful Spring has arrived.

Oh, please do stalk me at the vintage expo :)
I will be there both days, and it would be so nice to see a friendly face. I haven't ever been to one of these events--they've seemed too high end for my thrifting bones (though I could be mistaken about that).
I totally understand if you can't make it, though. We are going to sell (we need to--reluctantly on my part-- find homes for the pieces in that awesome old collection we got a couple months back), yet I cannot imagine that I won't return home without something to add to my collection. It is an illness, I tell you.
It is such a pretty day out today. I hope you all are out enjoying it .

Super cute outfit! (as usual) I am wondering what type of camera you use. I am in the market for buying a new camera and I am thinking or a Digital SLR Canon s/something x/something, etc etc....I have no idea. They are all a bit overwhelming.

So, we brought our girls home yesterday! Check out my recent posts. They are so sweet!
