What I wore on Thanksgiving, and some fall color as evidenced in my backyard. I found this little 60’s vintage jacket the day before at Goodwill for $6.99 (along with another vintage blazer that I’m pretty excited about, jack(et)pot!). Both have really wonderful shrunken fits.
I was drawn to this one for it’s mix of tough and sweet elements. I love the rugged army green fabric combined with the covered buttons and peter pan collar. Also, the shape of it and how it just buttons at the top allowing what ever is underneath to peak through, great for layering.
The gingham tunic is from Target by way of my friend Angelina’s yard sale over the summer. I wear it SO MUCH. The combination of the big hair bow (flea market find, attached with a bobby pin) and combat boots (courtesy of Millakins!) to finish things off was inspired by the jacket’s tough/sweet quality, a mix I really like.
We spent Thanksgiving at my mom’s house, having lots of fun and eating plenty of insanely yummy food with her and my sisters, their significant others, and Clover’s cousins. We also got to welcome a tiny new member into the family!
Meeting my 3-week-old nephew Austin for the first time. What a little bundle of sweetness.
The husbands… you gotta love a man who can cook. Truth be told, two of them were faking it for the camera. On a side note: Lucas’ vintage western snap-up shirt was scored from the Magical Dump!
Hey guys… can I be the giraffe?
Awwww-stin

a lovely outfit, and perfect for thanksgiving! the colors and the cut scream "fall family gathering" to me, if that makes any sense!
that jacket is great, I like the proportions you used. new babies are the best, the smell so good. :-)
not often do we get TWO examples of perfection in one post: that beautiful baby boy and that amazing jacket! wow!
i love that you went all out with that big hair bow. i thrifted one recently but haven't worn it yet - you've encouraged me!
I love your jacket and the bow in your hair.
Austin is adorable indeed! Looks like everyone had a great time. Must've been really nice to get everyone together for Thanksgiving :)
Awesome coat you scored and I agree with muchlove and do have to say that I, too, love the bow in your hair.
Congratulations on your new nephew! He's such a cutie pie.
These beautiful photos are really making me ache for Autumn, that jacket is gorgeous, perfect for layering as you said :-)
Baby! Oh I do miss having babies around. I guess I need more grandchildren *grin*
Love the jacket, it is so adorable on you. Makes the two I picked up at Forever21 feel like extravagant purchases, even though togheter they were cheaper than one jacket at another store. I sooo wish I could shop thrift more often. I can't seem to drag my husband into one so I can only go when I am out with my daughters, which is not very often, sigh.
Wow, I LOVE that jacket! The peter pan collar is soooo sweet!
Glad you had a nice thanksgiving - lovely jacket and Autumn leaves. It's one of my favourite seasons as I've probably said!
aw, your thanksgiving looks like it was such a wonderful time, little austin is such a cutie pie! i'm in love with your new jacket too, can't believe you got it for that price. I instantly loved it for the same reasons as you, rough and rugged, but still sweet and girlie! whoever thought to combine army green with a peter pan collar is a genius.
Oh dear, every time I see a pic of a new baby, I start cluck cluck clucking...to have another or not..that is my question. And yes, love your wardrobe-wear.

Oh, Austin is so adorable and Clover as well - as always!
Your outfit is wonderful and man, that jacket was an awesome find!

great thanksgiving pics. the little babe is too sweet! it's hard to remember them being that small. time sure does fly.
well you always know how to get me dont you- baby photos!!! awwwww hes just the cutest!! what a fun time when theres babies involved! i had 4! woot! 3 of them are triplets! all 4 are under 1 year! so its was fun to see all their different little personalites starting to show and oh at one point we had them all on the floor evenly spread out so they didnt even know there was a baby on either side of them and just to watch them heehee they were adorable i just love love seeing them look and wonder and all thats around them i wish i knew what they were thinking! they make such funny faces! im sure they think we're bonkers! but when they smile ahhhh i melt! cant beat a baby's smile!!!

You look beautiful!
Lovely pictures!
Love from Paris.
What a sweet Thanksgiving post! And the men in the kitchen? Why doesn't that happen in my family??
Austin is so cute and I'm happy not only to see men-folk cooking (which did not happen at our TG), but Lucas rockin' a Dump shirt. IMHO men in Dump shirts are always the hottest. You of course are utterly adorable.
Love the jacket and the way you paired it.
Very nice blog.
I too am a Goodwill fan. I go every Saturday. I post my finds when I remember too.
that bow is so darling!
jack(et) pot -- hahahahahahahaha.
