Rainy Day Outfit Post

Rainy Day Outerwear

Rainy Day Outfit

Well, we had our first rainstorm of the season this week. That was kinda fun. Of course today was 80 degrees and sunny again... Oh Fall, where did you go?

I wore this 100% thrifted outfit the day of the big storm. A remix of old finds and the sweet Nordic sweater thrifted and given to me by internets pal Liz. Ever since seeing this gal in the wardrobe_remix pool last week, I've wanted to try something similar with the dress/sweater layering, after going back and looking at her outfit again I see that I apparently ripped off the whole bluish tights/ brown boots combo as well, haha.

Today I've been feeling inspired by the latest brilliantly styled Teen Vogue editorial to be making the blog-spiration rounds:

Ah, grunge sweet grunge...

yes, I have been drawing inspiration from that same editorial. The sweater over a collared dress is such a cute idea, gotta try it too. :)

Excellent outfit! I'm particularly enamoured of your duffel coat, you have superhuman thrifting skills!

And I think I'm a little obsessed with that editorial, especially the blue-dress-stripey-tee combo..

I just said "hey that's my sweater!" :)
it looks great. i love the top shot, with the coat, oh i love that! It's just a great outfit all around.
As coincidences go, I thrifted a similar woolrich sweater yesterday - the pinks and the little patterns - so i did indeed think of you and this one.
have a great weekend Missa!

I love your outfit for a rainy day (I wish it would rain in Orange County!)
It def has a grunge feel but more feminine!

Hi Missa, it's been ages since I've visited your blog and I'm so happy to return. We are in the area now and I must say I'm not sure how to dress. We too enjoyed the storm and the rain and figured fall and winter were arriving. We couldn't believe that the next day the temp. was so warm. I keep going out with a sweater only to have to change into something a bit more summer like. I suppose eventually I'll get used to it.

You have the cutest umbrella and outfit, I love your sweater. The rain was insane here, it was POURING all day. I kind of liked it, it reminded me of living in the N.W. I'm excited for the colder season!

Oh how lovely is that belt and skirt, this looks so sweet on you. It's the ideal fall outfit. Looks like those boots are keen companions of yours, they're beautiful and go magically with this outfit. the whole ensemble looks like it came out of a cozy storybook.

Such a cute rainy day outfit!!! Yeah, it rained here ONE day. I was so excited to get out some of my wintery clothes. I walked out of class at 4pm and it was hot again! That's sunny CA for ya! What a tease :(

That editorial is so great. I always feel like an epic failure when it comes to layering, but these spreads make it look so easy!

I don't know what it is about the stylists at Teen Vogue, but they are some of the best out. I find more inspiration in TV than actual Vogue, Nylon, etc. They need a promotion.

I love your coat!!!! I found something exactly like it in a charity shop the other day but it was too big. It was heart breaking leaving it behind ha. That Teen Vogue editorial is so good, it's just what I'm feeling right now. And the location..!!
