Thrifty Gifty

In case you had any doubts about whether or not vintage dress fairies actually do exist, I’m here to tell you that they do! They really do! In fact, I have a very sweet one named Hillary to thank for sending me this perfect little black sun dress, which arrived along with a gorgeous peachy slip and a few other wonderful cooler weather dresses currently awaiting fall/winter.

She thrifted them all ten years ago and when she came across them in storage she thought of me. How completely kind and generous is that?! Thank you so much Hillary!

Vintage Stetson hat, newly thrifted, $6, Angel's Attic. I'm thinking this might be my go to hat come fall.

Oh, and there are belt fairies too! Still loving this one Selena ;)

Strung Together

I looove the back of this dress. Actually I love the front too, with the pin tucks and ruffles. It’s perfectly simple, yet those subtle details make it really special. I wore it to celebrate the much longed for heat wave we’re finally having.

It's been a little depressing around here weather wise folks, cool foggy days with the sun not poking through until around noon and then temperatures barely cracking the low 80’s, only to dip back down again for cold evenings. Over a month straight of this! Not. Normal. As if summer decided not to show up at all this year... until now! It actually got HOT, I even had to lose the wool hat, but the easy breezy dress was just perfect :)

I’m telling you, after all the cold foggy days this summer, it was so exciting to go out in the morning and see the sun shining and feel WARMTH. In fact, it was almost giant double rainbow exciting… almost ;)

beautiful dress, front and back, so true! and yes, our weather has been lacklusterly unhot for summer, till yesterday and today that is...and i think the 100s are still coming this week, so more river time for me! i LOVE you in that hat and it's gonna be so perf for fall....wish i could pull off hats a little better. yeah for vintage fairies, they make the world lovely.

that dress is exquisite!
the weather has been so strange this summer. around this time of year i always find myself looking forward to a cool down--if only to wear the hats and boots and jackets that i've thrifted over the summer!--but i am trying to relish these hot days instead. to the river and pools i will go....

that's great that you were a skater chick. I tried to skate on my very old late 70s skateboard when I was 10, and again when I was 15 (on a more modern board that was my brother's since he was a skater punk in 1992), but really I wasn't very good. The most I could do was an ollie. It was fun though. I however did have a thing for skater guys and surfer guys.
How long did you skate for? Did you have a fun time?
