On Sunday

I've been finding messy romantic up-dos inspiring lately. With my hair in drastic need of a cutting (two years without so much as a trim... 2 years… sometimes I procrastinate over the silliest things) I haphazardly twisted and pinned to hide away the tattered ends.

Hey friend.

CHEESE… she says it on her own… to the self timer. It’s hilarious.

I found this little skirt on a dollar rack at the Love Your Neighbor thrift store. The black and white print is tiny dots and flowers. The top is super old from Urban Outfitters. I love its scribbled ponies with their strangely long legs.

It was a pretty casual day spent with Lucas and Clover mostly around the house and in the yard. I helped Clover work on her “tree” climbing skills (it’s actually a large bush with low branches) while Lucas tended the garden. We went for a little family walk to the park and took turns pushing Clover on the swings, they’re her favorite…

… AND we got goldfish for our pond which has been looking especially lovely lately with the lotus and cattails from last year springing back to life and the new addition of a little tree. It’s some type of cedar. We picked it up a couple of weekends ago at the pond store and I think it’s just the coolest thing.

Not to mention the nasturtiums. We have a patch of them growing on the other side of the fence. These grew right under and climbed their way up the side of the pond and up the cattails!

Here are two of the four fish. Not the best photo, but you get the idea.

They are the exact shade of orange as the reflections of the nasturtiums too. Maybe that would explain Clover's “fowers swimmin” observation :)

Your hair and outfit look so cute! I wish my hair would grow faster so I could wear it as pretty as that (right now, my hair is only bothering me)

So much love for everything in this post: You gorgeous updo, perfectly styled outfit with the long-legged pony tee, and that AH-MAZING koi pond!

("swimming flowers" love that, maybe she'll be a romantic too)
I'm terrible with haircuts too - though not two years worth! hahaha

your hair looks so pretty!

i'm awful about haircuts. usually it takes a really bad, self bang cut to get me to a salon.

Beautiful stuff!! I love you hair pulled up like that!! I love hair cuts I would die w/ out one every few weeks. Looks like Clover could use a little trim on her little bang curtins!!

Ah ha! I just put fish in my pond, too! I can't find any good advice about it though, like what I need to do to keep everything ALIVE... I love the plants in yours. But let me know, what should I put in there so that the fish can breath freely and whatnots? As far as all the advice I"ve received goes, all I do is put fish in and forget about it (except for feeding them). But my instincts tell me otherwise. Any advice is much appreciated!

Yours,

Elissa.

Rad outfit and beautiful goldfish pond! I'm glad the look of these mini florals is coming back ... remember their heyday in the '90s? ^__^
