Sunshine and Saltwaters
At the thrift store on Tuesday, not only did I find the most wonderful wooden 1930’s swivel chair for my desk ($20!), I also, to the delight of Clover and her cousin Lucia, came home with mini versions of my beloved Saltwater sandals!
I just happened to be wearing mine when I found them and returned home to find the girls playing together at the house. Both pairs were a perfect fit and they were SO excited that we all had matching sandals, it was pretty adorable.
I followed the girls into the backyard and snapped some photos while they played in the willow tree. They were too cute in their floral dresses and matching pigtails, and in other cute news…
Eep! Or should I say cheep? Say hellow to our four new feathered friends!
These lil' ladies (fingers crossed we don't have a rooster in the mix) are amazingly soft, fit right in the palm of your hand, are practically weightless, make the sweetest little "cheep cheeps", and will randomly fall asleep out of nowhere, alot, seemingly active then all of a sudden head slowly droops, eyes close… aaand napping, they do it standing up too, it‘s so funny to watch, like fuzzy little narcoleptic balls of cute they are. Needless to say, we are smitten :)

i can't believe you found matching saltwaters for the whole family and they fit perfectly...now THAT is a dream come true! especially since they are obviously the perfect summer sandal. hands down.
now you all just need sunbonnets, hee hee!
as for the chicks, i spent a day at a farm yesterday and i am in love with chickens and how you can just reach in their boxes, mid afternoon, and have six or seven sweet warm multicolored beautiful eggs. life cycles are REALLY tripping me out lately, and i'm loving being a part of it all.
congrats to your new adventure with chickens! i hope you'll post information as you go, i'd love to learn from you.
haha, little fuzzy narcoleptic balls of cute is right! i can't wait to have chickens one day. their little legs are so funny when they run! x
Thank you for your comment Missa, if you only knew that you where the one that inspired me to thrift for clothes a long time ago. I had not commented but I've been following your blog for years and your thrift finds inspired a lot of what my style is today. =)
I know I always say it but your photos are truly beautiful, the 3rd one down could be straight out of a Crew Cuts catalogue, stunning!
Those are the BEST sandals! My friend and her 5 year old daughter have matching red pairs. What a score! And just the right size for both girls too :-)
I remember having a pair of sandals like that when I was younger! They are actually really cool.
The chicks are very cute. Hope you are having a nice weekend. It's a holiday here in NZ today.
the chicks!!!! lovelovelove. please be sure to update us on your chicken-raising adventures. i have given much consideration to the enterprise myself, but would love to hear some firsthand experiences...
